Job Satisfaction can also be effective in increasing happiness. In this study, the status of job satisfaction and happiness among the staff of Kerman University of Medical Sciences was studied. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 245 staff of Kerman University of Medical Sciences in 2018 using convenience sampling method. Descriptive Index Job Descriptive Index (JDI) and Oxford questionnaires were used. The JDI questionnaire consists of 70 questions with Likert scale 1 to 5 and the Oxford questionnaire had 29 questions with Liker scale 0 to 3. In both questionnaires, a higher score indicates a better situation. Statistical analyzes were performed using univariate and multivariate linear regression analyses and Pearson correlation coefficient. Results: The mean ± standard deviation of happiness score and job satisfaction was 40.87 ± 13.44 and 234.46 ± 40.7, respectively. The highest job satisfaction scores were in the fields of supervision and colleagues and the lowest scores were in the field of promotion and salary. Among the predictive factors, only the type of deputy had a significant relationship with job satisfaction score. Also, there was a significant positive correlation between job satisfaction and happiness (r = 0 371, p-value <0/001). Conclusion: Staff members of Kerman University of Medical Sciences do not have a satisfactory job satisfaction and happiness. Considering the relationship between job satisfaction with happiness and the role of happiness on health, effective interventions should be designed and implemented. ►Please cite this article as follows Danaei M, Momeni M, Alikhani S.
